How to use a resume website in job applications
Where to put your personal site URL in applications, ATS fields, recruiter email, and LinkedIn — without confusing bots or humans.
A digital résumé only helps if humans actually open it. Use the website for people; keep a clean PDF for systems that demand a file.
ATS and portal fields
- Upload the PDF where the form requires a résumé file.
- Put your site URL in “website,” “portfolio,” or “additional information” fields.
- Never replace a required file upload with a link alone unless the form allows it.
Recruiter and hiring-manager email
One short paragraph: role, fit, then a single HTTPS link. Avoid five attachments plus a paragraph-long signature.
Featured section + About first lines. LinkedIn finds you; the site converts curiosity. See vs LinkedIn.
What “good” looks like
First screen answers who you are, level, and how to contact you in under ten seconds on a phone. Checklist: personal website checklist.
Build path: resume → website · start.
